Massage has always played an important part in Indian
life, featuring in the earliest Ayurvedic text, dating back 4000
years. Indian Head Massage is a treatment for the scalp, face, neck,
shoulders and arms. It uses similar techniques to classic Swedish
massage and is especially effective in treating stress, as it focuses
on those areas of the body most affected by stress i.e. the shoulders,
neck and head.
The client can remain fully clothed for the duration of the massage
or may expose the upper back and shoulders if so wished. Specially
selected natural oils can then be incorporated into the massage,
which will bring added benefits to the massage.
Indian Head Massage helps the body in its attempts to self-heal,
